Your support provides a home-away-from-home so families can concentrate on what matters most – the recovery and wellbeing of their child. It’s a home that helps families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy.
Since 1982, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana has had the privilege of providing a place to keep families together, one that is dignified and compassionate to their needs, while their child is in the hospital.
Many times, when families come to the Ronald McDonald House, they have just received a heartbreaking call and rushed to the hospital with only their clothes on their back, gas in their tank, and change in their pocket. We serve these families by providing a sense of security, respite, and normalcy. That means having a cozy bed, a hot shower, a warm, homemade meal, or even just an early morning cup of coffee. It’s the comforts of home we can take for granted, but when a child is hospitalized, the comfort of having family nearby is beyond measure. Studies show that staying at Ronald McDonald House locations is frequently cited as one of families’ top coping mechanisms while dealing with the stress of having a child in the hospital.
It’s because of you – our friends in the community, our partners and our generous donors – that this is all possible. Whether you choose to hold an office fundraising event, celebrate your birthday with donations in lieu of gifts, or honor the memory of a loved one with a beautiful tribute, your efforts make a difference in the lives of the more than 5000 families and children we serve each year.
